Frequently Asked Questions

  • We offer a range of solutions designed to meet your needs—whether you're just getting started or scaling something bigger. Everything is tailored to help you move forward with clarity and confidence. See our Services page for more information.

  • Getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact form or schedule a call—we’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way.

  • Many people do choose to do their own photos. However clients often have a lower perceived value on agents that try to specialize in other fields outside of being an agent. Additionally, buyers are known to spend more time looking at properties listings with professional pictures compared to those taken by the agent with a cell phone. You should use a professional photographer to make you stand out from the competition and look more like a professional agent than those that do not invest in professional listing photos.

  • We always say 24-48 hours after.  Sometimes we can deliver faster, but it is harder to do so during the busier times of the year.

  • We have a picture prep guide that can be downloaded for your and your clients.  But the biggest things are simplifying the home by cleaning up clutter, routine dusting and cleaning, hiding toiletries, and removing pets and pet items if at all possible.  Check out our page under Helpful Info called Preparing for Pictures for more information.

  • I work for whomever hires me, whether it's a realtor or a home owner or a business owner. There are up and down sides for a home owner to hire the photographer instead of the realtor. The upside is that if the home owner should decide things aren't working out with their realtor, then they can pass the photos along to the next realtor without having to have the home reshot. But at the other-hand, you would be spending the money for pictures instead of the realtor. Either way it's a small investment if it means helping sell your home.

  • If you are an agent, we recommend using the Client Portal.  If you have not created a profile yet, we recommend doing so.  You can also text or email the info to us.  If you are a home owner, or someone that will not likely be using us for repeat services, then I do not recommend using the Client Portal.  Simply email us the basic information and we’ll go from there.

  • No, I'm not a realtor. I'm strictly a photography service provider. I joined UCAR in order to gain both additional creditability and access to electronic lock boxes (ELBs). This is out of convenience so that agents and assistants do not have to make special arrangements simply to let us in to a home.

  • In short, the photographer owns the pictures per US Copyright laws.  What you receive is a limited usage license.  I recommend viewing our page covering this topic under the Helpful Info tab above.

  • It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure the property is ready for pictures. But I know that it's not always obvious to everyone what needs to be hidden and what doesn't, so I will move stuff periodically. But if a home is just jam packed with stuff, then it will be shot as is.

  • The Tennessee Photo Company LLC is fully insured in the case something accidentally was to happen while at a client's home. Feel free to request a certificate of coverage if need be. We are also a member of the Upper Cumberland Association of Realtors.  Beyond that the photography industry does not provide licenses.  Our work and reputation over the years stands solid.

  • The improvements in technology do allow us a greater possibility of turning photos around same day.  However this also depends on how busy a day we have.  The only other service we are able to deliver same day is the Zillow home tours.

  • It is recommended to remove (or hide) anything pet related from the pictures, which would include the pets themselves. The problem for pictures with pets is because of the multiple slow exposures. Anything that moves during any one or more of those images will cause ghostly looks. So this not only includes animals, but things outside like fans and flags and chimes and such.

  • Any retouching that is done is generally cosmetic, such as dirty mirrors, dirty walls, picture hangers on walls, etc.  All our interior images are processed by a local professional retouched that we have partnered with.  Some extras we do for free a TV screens, fireplaces, and sky replacements as needed.  Beyond this, extra retouching fees will be added to your invoice.

  • The FAA requires that anyone operating a drone for commercial use according to their definition must pass the Part 107 Knowledge Test to be a licensed drone operator. Plus registration of the drone itself as well. We meet this obligation back in November 2016, and in accordance with their requirements return to pass the recurrent test every two years thereafter. It is recommended that whomever you use for drone operations that they be in compliance with the FAA. This will keep both you and them out of trouble.

What People Are Saying

My clients have all been quite pleased with how the marketing materials turn out with the high quality photos you provide.

It is very valuable for you be a true professional when you are meeting with my clients. Everything that an agent does for the clients reflects upon the agent. It is very important that all referred services to our clients be a positive experience for them as well.

I will not use anyone else, because I don't want to risk a listing just to try something or someone new.
